WATERLOGGED: The Rodney Parade pitch covered in an attempt to dry it out this morning
TONIGHT'S clash between Newport County AFC and AFC Wimbledon has again been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
With tonight's scheduled match official unable to arrive until 4.30pm, the Football Association asked for the official refereeing at Torquay tonight to make a 1pm inspection at Rodney Parade.
The Exiles had hoped that the use of 'dome covers' installed at 2am, would help them prevent a sixth home game since December, 2013 being lost to the elements.
However, the official deemed there was too much standing water in the six yard box at the north end of the ground and it was decided there was no point in waiting for a second inspection at 4.30pm.
