Newport-based law firm HardingEvans has recruited a new partner for its medical negligence department, further cementing its position as one of the largest medical negligence teams in the country.

Jane Rogers joins HardingEvans in Newport following more than 20 years’ experience in the field. Accredited as a Senior Litigator with APIL and a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence panel, Jane brings with her a wealth of experience.

Jane held the position of partner in a London law firm before returning to her hometown of Cardiff in 2002, where she was appointed head of the medical negligence team in a large practice. In 2011, her impressive reputation granted her a position in Bristol firm, Metcalfes, where she developed their medical negligence team before joining HardingEvans.

Jane said: “HardingEvans has a fantastic medical negligence team – one that is well known in the field. I am very excited to join this specialist team, and to play an instrumental role in their ongoing success.

“Before qualifying as a solicitor in 1992, I worked in the cardiology department of a large teaching hospital. I find that my background knowledge within the NHS, coupled with my extensive experience in medical negligence, gives me a competitive edge in the industry.

“Working in medical negligence is challenging but extremely rewarding – I am pleased to be joining such an established team, which acts on behalf of claimants across Wales and beyond.”

Ken Thomas, partner and head of the HardingEvans medical negligence team, said: “We are thrilled to have Jane join our talented team. Her skills and longstanding reputation speak for themselves – continuously ranked highly in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession and in the Legal 500, we know she will be an asset to our team.

“This is an exciting time for HardingEvans, and particularly for our medical negligence team. We have a strong track record of securing compensation in medical and dental claims, and are well placed to represent more and more very deserving patients who are unfortunate enough to be injured as a result of neglect.

“We are extremely pleased to have Jane on board to develop the team further.”

The HardingEvans medical negligence team comes highly recommended in both the Chambers guide to the legal profession and the Legal 500. HardingEvans is one of the region’s most progressive law firms, offering a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals.
