Amber Services is delighted to announce it has won the Welsh National Procurement award for Green Public Procurement.

The award recognises the outstanding achievement in delivering environmental benefits for Wales via public procurement, acknowledging teams and suppliers who have been innovative in achieving substantial environmental progress via carefully crafted procurement initiatives/projects and who have been exemplary in delivering environmental benefits in practice going above and beyond contract requirements.

Amber Services is a family run business based in Caerphilly, which was set up in 1972.

It provides waste management solutions throughout South Wales including collection, treatment, transfer and disposal.

The Second Annual Welsh National Procurement Awards were held at City Hall, Cardiff, when the keynote speaker was Jane Hutt , Welsh Finance Minister.

She said: “These awards are a perfect showcase for recognising individuals and teams who are the most innovative, drive public procurement progress, influence change, implement procurement policy in a way that delivers real environmental, social and economic benefits for Wales or are suppliers supplying innovative goods or services to the public sector. "
