Co-director of Cwmbrand-based Green & Co Accountants, Nick Park, has been appointed by the Country Landowners Association as the representative for Wales on the National Taxation Committee.
The CLA is a membership organisation for owners of land, property and business in rural England and Wales.
Nick Park said: "The CLA has an important role in making government in Wales and the UK aware of tax issues that affect rural businesses. At our recent meeting we considered the implications of the Wales Bill which includes the devolution of tax raising powers to the National Assembly for Wales. We also identified that the abolition of Agricultural Buildings Allowances was restricting the ability of farm businesses to invest in the future. This could easily be rectified if farm buildings were eligible for capital allowances."
