A Newbridge-based contract electronics manufacturer has appointed its latest first class candidate to begin their career through its sought-after graduate scheme.

Axiom Manufacturing Services has employed Valentina Cristea, a recent graduate of the University of South Wales, after she secured a first class honours degree in logistics and supply chain management.

Axiom’s graduate programme, which was launched in 2013, is individually tailored to ensure the maximum learning experience for each of its participants. As an industry leader, the manufacturer is uniquely positioned in Wales to deliver comprehensive electronic industry experience as she rotates through the business’ support and manufacturing departments; before ultimately focusing on her specialist field of procurement.

Valentina Cristea, 27, who is originally from Romania, said: “I’m delighted to have been offered the opportunity to progress my career with the procurement department. Axiom came highly recommended by my course leader as having graduate employment and development opportunities.”

While with the firm, Valentina will receive extensive guidance from materials director Chris Nye, who will oversee her progression and understanding of the business.

Chris Nye said: “We have developed a unique approach, which places our customers’ specific criteria at the heart of our service offering. It’s essential for each member of our team to understand and invest in this strategy and providing talented, driven individuals like Valentina the chance to begin their careers with us is the best way to do this.

“Creating real opportunities at graduate level is fundamental to ensuring that UK manufacturing is at the fore of the global market.”
