A trainee accountant at Green & Co in Cwmbran has just passed her exams and won two prestigious awards for work in her field.

Lucy Whittington started working and training with Green & Co three years ago, and then went on to study for her professional qualifications at the University of South Wales. She has been studying while working with her employer for the past three years and the exams were the final stage of the full Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification.

In addition to graduating, former St Julian's Comprehensive School pupil Miss Whittington received several awards including the Marsh Vision Prize for Best Overall Final Year ACCA Student and the ACCA Wales Prize for Best Overall Student for ACCA Professional Level.

These awards follow on from a similarly exceptional performance in her university studies last year, when Miss Whittington was one of five ACCA students in the UK to receive commendation from the ACCA examination board. Leanne Flanagan, another of the five to receive commendation, is also an employee at Green & Co.

"We want our staff to become the best at what they do, so that we can provide the best possible service for our clients," said Nick Park, director of Green & Co Accountants.

"We pride ourselves on providing thorough training and support to all our staff, ensuring they reach their full potential. We are thrilled that Lucy has achieved these awards. They stand as testament to the hard work and dedication that she has committed to her studies and her work throughout her time at Green & Co. It is a significant achievement for her and we are very proud."
