A Newport-based car sales business has added an extra sprinkle of sparkle to this year's Celtic Manor Resort's Christmas Kingdom after becoming the event’s presenting sponsor.

For the first time this year Mrs Claus will be making the journey over from Lapland to join Santa and his reindeer in the grotto. Every child visiting Santa will first meet Mrs Claus to help decorate her gingerbread Christmas trees.

The Christmas Kingdom, presented by Capitol Škoda, which is based at Leeway Industrial Estate, Newport, opens its doors to welcome visitors to the five-star Celtic Manor Resort in Newport from November 27.

Day visitors and hotel guests will be able to glide across the new larger ice rink and visit Santa in his grotto to tell him all their Christmas wishes and see his elves and reindeer helpers.

More than 40,000 people enjoyed the Christmas Kingdom in 2013.

Celtic Manor head of special events Alan Evans said: “We were once again overwhelmed by the response to our Christmas Kingdom last year.

“The attraction is going to be even bigger and better this year thanks to the support of Capitol Škoda as presenting sponsor. We look forward to seeing many more faces light up as they get into the festive spirit and feel the true magic of Christmas here at Celtic Manor.”

Craig Walters, head of business at Capitol Škoda, said: “It’s fantastic that The Celtic Manor Resort have Santa and Mrs Claus visiting Newport and it’s a real privilege that they have chosen a Škoda Yeti as well as the sleigh this year.”
