ROYAL Bank of Scotland Newport branch manager Kate Steele and team members Tara Palmizi and Lisa Phelps became Santa’s helpers for the day.

The trio helped out at the grotto in Kingsway centre, Newport, before Santa’s arrival stocking up his supplies of festive chocolates.

Kate Steel said: “Over the past six months, the staff at RBS Newport chose St David's Hospice Care as our local adopted charity that we would support throughout the year by holding regular fundraising events in branch.

“By holding two events recently, RBS Newport were able to raise more than £1000 which is being used to pay for selection boxes for the charity’s Christmas grotto at the Kingsway Centre this year.”

Tania Ansell, of St David’s Hospice Care, said: “The money RBS staff have raised and have committed to raise is extremely welcome and very much appreciated. Santa is delighted with the selection boxes.

“We will ensure that other money raised will be put to very good use in helping is to deliver the care and free services that we provide throughout our community.”
