Ebbw Vale-based business, Innovation Makers Ltd, has been nominated for two awards for its OmniO Rider, which takes the concept of a baby stroller into a new realm.

The firm has been selected as a finalist in both the Baby Products Association’s Concept & Innovation Awards and the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards.

The revolutionary new stroller successfully secured investment to the tune of £180,000 through an equity crowdsourcing platform in November, and has been continuing to attract positive attention ever since.

Samantha and Markus Warwick is team behind OmniO Rider.

The BPA said: “There was a very positive reaction to the OmniO Rider and collectively the judges felt that this is a very manoeuvrable pushchair, with the inclusion of its ingenious wheels, which can be folded fluidly and carried with ease when the need arises. We look forward to seeing the reaction of visitors to Harrogate International Nursery Fair when this is exhibited.”

Innovation Makers Ltd, the company behind OmniO Rider, has also been selected as a finalist for the Business Start-Up category in the Welsh Business Awards 2014.

Samantha Warwick said: "We’re thrilled by the recognition we have received. The past eight months have been a frenzy of activity, with two awards in the running, and we’re delighted to be making our debut at this year’s Harrogate Nursery Fair.”

The winners of the Welsh Business Awards 2014 will be revealed on Thursday (February 26), and the BPA Concept & Innovation Awards will be announced at the Harrogate Nursery Fair in March.
