A team of solicitors from Cwmbran-based QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O'Brien is taking part in this year's Trekfest Challenge 2015 to raise money for Eden Gate charity.

Ten members of the law firm will be participating in the 13-mile trek, including four of the partners. The team will be calling themselves The Legal Eagles with Sarah Abdullah, paralegal in the company's private client department, as the team captain.

Eden Gate is the firm's charity of the year which was voted for by the staff. Eden Gate helps support people aged over 18 become free of substance misuse by working alongside rehabilitation programmes. It works with rough sleepers and try to find them permanent accommodation and try to get them off the streets for good.

Sam George, managing partner at QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O'Brien, said: "Every year we choose to support a local charity and this year we have chosen Eden Gate.

"This decision was because the level of commitment and value of their achievements far surpasses the public awareness and support that they receive. This is largely because they just get on with the important work at hand and have little time to canvass for much needed funding. We thought, therefore, that we could try and help their fund raising by taking part in the Trekfest Challenge 2015 and asking people to sponsor us for this very worthy cause."

Team Leader, Sarah Abdullah said they have been training to ensure that they are prepared for this trek across the iconic Welsh countryside.

She said: “You may see us romping around the paths and parks of Gwent building up our stamina. We are really looking forward to taking part and hope that people will sponsor us to help Eden Gate. We are also keeping our fingers crossed for good weather.”
