The new owners of Uskmouth Power Station, international commodities and industries group SIMEC, has become the new title sponsor for Polo at the Manor, the social and sporting event which takes place at the Celtic Manor Resort on June 13.

SIMEC has recently acquired Uskmouth Power Station as the latest addition to its growing energy division and SIMEC Polo at the Manor will provide an opportunity for the company to celebrate its presence in the local community.

The event will see international players and ponies from across the UK compete in a day of professional, fast-paced polo matches on a specially created polo field at Celtic Manor.

A SIMEC spokesman said: “We are very pleased to announce our title sponsorship and know it will provide a marvellous opportunity for us to strengthen our links with the community and with local businesses.

“We are a multi-faceted commodity business with operations in five continents and we are always keen to establish personal relationships in all our locations. Polo is a sport which brings people together to enjoy themselves and this event is a perfect fit for us as one of the social events of the season.

“The Celtic Manor Resort has a well-deserved reputation for putting on prestigious sporting events and first-class hospitality, and we look forward to another day to remember in June.”

Polo at the Manor will see more than a thousand guests enjoy a day of hospitality in the main pavilion and a similar amount of spectators watch the action while enjoying picnics on the sidelines.

Celtic Manor Resort head of corporate relations Danielle Bounds said: “We are delighted to have a new title sponsor for SIMEC Polo at the Manor and to align our brand with such a prestigious international company."

Additional team sponsors signed up for SIMEC Polo at the Manor include Champagne Jacquart, Bulmers cider and Britvic.
