Newport-based Henry Howard Finance Group, which specialises in providing funding and financial support for SMEs throughout the UK, has signed a deal to be a shirt sponsor of Newport County AFC for the 2015/16 season.

The deal was brokered by group chief operating officer Mark Crook, who is a Newport County fan and is a non-executive director of the club. It will see the Henry Howard Finance Group's logo being featured on the back of the team's shirt.

Next season looks to be an exciting one for the League Two team which recently appointed ex-England player and captain Terry Butcher as manager.

Fortunes for Henry Howard Finance Group have also been on the up in the last few months with the company announcing major capital investment of £25m in 2014.

The funding, provided by Cabot Square Capital, is enabling Henry Howard Finance to provide much needed access to funding for commercial growth, cashflow support and investment for equipment and purchase of business assets to SMEs in South Wales, the South West and throughout the UK.

As part of the company’s links with Newport County, the youth team has recently visited the Langstone Business Village offices where Henry Howard Finance experts have provided insight into the financial sector and offered useful information as they embark on their careers.

Mark Crook said: “We’re very proud of our South Wales roots and as a Newport based business employing 60 staff we are committed to playing an active role in our community.

“With many of our staff keen football fans and with my history in the club we have agreed this exciting deal for next season. I’m looking forward to seeing the first match with Henry Howard Finance as shirt sponsor.”
