A Cwmbran-based accountancy firm is running a seminar on research and development on the morning of June 22 at the Parkway Hotel in the town.

Green & Co Accountants, based at Pembroke House off Llantarnam Park Way, is urging clients, contacts and local businesses to attend the free seminar in order to learn more about allowances relating to Research and Development (R&D).

Partner designate Barrie Kenyon said: “Many small business owners have never had access to information about claiming tax credits, and those that have were often not aware that their business qualified. This seminar explains what makes a business eligible and how to go about making a claim.”

At the seminar, experts in the field will cover what is eligible under R&D schemes, including the many different examples of how businesses have used the tax relief to further their growth. A representative from HMRC will be present to discuss the Revenue's position on R&D as well as to field questions from attendees.

The seminar is a morning session, with registration from 9am and finishing at 11am. Light refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
