A Newport businessman has launched a new online service which he claims will turn the traditional CV into a recruitment tool of the past.

The Digital CV is a new service for executives who want to promote themselves and their experience via their own website.

The service helps executives who are looking for their next career move to create their own website, which not only captures employment history, skills and profile, it also incorporates elements of a candidate’s personality to bring the CV to life.

Andy Stone, founder of The Digital CV, said: “A CV will always form a key part of the recruitment process but it’s often the part that people dread. For some people, the thought of pulling together your experience into a format that’s presentable and stands out from the crowd can be quite daunting and time consuming.

“How many of us have written in our CV that we are diligent, hardworking and like to socialise? I wanted to create a service which helped people put their own stamp on their CVs, one which helped them stand out from the crowd and take the stress out of creating a CV and helps candidates differentiate themselves in a busy marketplace.”

Andy, from Newport, south Wales, decided to launch The Digital CV after creating his own personal website and found that he was quickly approached with opportunities from businesses who were interested in his profile.

Andy said: “By creating an online presence to showcase your skills and expertise, you’re not taking an ad hoc approach. Once created, your website gives you a constant online presence which can be continually updated as your skills change or are improved. You control your website, you control your career. The more proactive you are, the more presence you will achieve.”
