Strong growth due to a significant increase in the number of house sales has enabled Newport based Kingston Newell Estate Agents to recruit two new members to their team and promote Cerys Roberts to the position of sales manager.

The independent estate agency located on Bridge Street in Newport has seen a 27 per cent increase in the number of sales they have completed in the last quarter compared to the same time last year.

To manage the increase in demand, Cerys Roberts has been promoted to work alongside company director John Newell to undertake valuations, accompany viewings and work with their clients throughout the sales process.

Catherine Lindsey and Ema Thomas have joined as sales and letting administrators to work in the busy city centre office where they will manage telephone and online enquiries as well as those from customers visiting the agency.

John Newell, managing director of Kingston Newell Estate Agents, said: “The estate agency industry is possibly more competitive than ever with new companies setting up both in the ‘traditional’ format and the online versions. We have not only maintained our market share but increased it and aim to continue to do so by employing and promoting talented professionals like Cerys who consistently provide our customers with a first-class service.

“The housing market in Newport and the surrounding areas continues to remain very active with an influx of buyers seeking to relocate to the city to benefit from the more affordable house prices when compared to Cardiff and Bristol. In the last 12 months, we have achieved record number of sales since the company was formed more than 30 years ago, and this includes the previous housing boom over a decade ago.”

Cerys said: “When I joined Kingston Newell, I was aware of the history of the company and their commitment to providing great customer service. This focus hasn’t changed and we have introduced a raft of new services and marketing tools including professional photography and virtual tours to ensure we stay ahead of our competitors. It’s a challenging environment that I thrive in and am delighted that my commitment has been recognised. My new role will enable me to continue to work closely with our clients as well as help Catherine and Ema develop in their new roles. It’s an exciting time for all.”
