ICC Wales has appointed Rebecca Green as corporate sales manager at the upcoming international convention centre on the site of the Celtic Manor in Newport.

Rebecca will be working with the corporate and agency market, alongside the other ‘Make It Happen’ team members bringing the convention centre to Wales in 2019.

Rebecca has more than 12 years’ experience in the events industry, including Celtic Manor where she previously managed corporate relations.

She joins from Carden Park Hotel – Cheshire’s Country estate, where she was senior sales manager.

Rebecca said: “This is an exciting project to be involved in and I’m thrilled to be bringing my experience to the table. The team have already achieved so much, so I’m excited to get stuck in and drive the sales for the corporate and agency market.”

Ian Edwards, chief executive of ICC Wales and Celtic Manor, said: “We’re delighted to bring Rebecca on board. She brings with her great experience in the events industry, including here at Celtic Manor. We’ve already established ourselves on the business events map and no doubt Rebecca will be an integral part of the team for bringing even more new business.”

Once complete in 2019, ICC Wales will provide total floor space for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and events of 26,000sqm – the equivalent size to nearly four international rugby pitches.

An £83.7m joint venture between Celtic Manor and Welsh Government, ICC Wales will accommodate 5,000 delegates and includes a 4,000sqm pillar-free main hall, a 1,500-seated auditorium, 12 flexible meeting rooms, a double-height glass atrium and a 2,500sqm outdoor plaza.
