Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise has donated £350 for a charity which supports families in Blaenau Gwent.
The money was raised by UKSE and tenants of its Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre, by selling off excess office furniture.
The Ebbw Vale Children’s Contact Centre offers a safe place for non-resident parents to meet their children after a separation or divorce.
It is open fortnightly between 10am and 12 am on Saturday mornings and is based in the Catholic Church Hall, Tredegar Road, Ebbw Vale. The centre is inspected and accredited by the National Association of Children’s Centres and is staffed entirely by volunteers, and relies on grants and donations.
Volunteers are asked to contact ebbwvaleccc@gmail.com if they would like to become involved.
Gail Hannam, of UKSE’s Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre, said: "The Children’s Contact Centre is the only one of its kind in Blaenau Gwent and performs an important function in the community.
“Our tenants at the Innovation Centre have been very generous by donating their excess furniture and we are delighted to work with them in supporting the local community in this, and various other ways.”
