Three companies headquartered in South Wales have become new members of the London Welsh RFC Business Club.

They are Newport-based chartered accountants Kilsby & Williams, Neath adventure experience providers Call of the Wild and Cardiff-based PR specialists Effective Communication.

Directors from the firms were presented with signed club shirts by former British Lions, Wales and London Welsh great John Dawes.

The club, launched in 2010, provides business development opportunities in London for Welsh businesses.

Acorn Recruitment group marketing director Dan Langford, who helped set up the business club, welcomed the new members.

He said: “We’re delighted to welcome Effective Communication, Kilsby & Williams and Call of the Wild at a time when Welsh rugby is on a high, and when we’re also dealing with a number of additional membership enquiries.

“The London Welsh RFC Business Club is a platform for companies across Wales to position themselves within the London business scene, develop new contacts and drive forward new business opportunities.

“Becoming part of a rugby club with a prestigious history of more than 125 years and with legends such as John Taylor, Mervyn Davies and John Dawes still heavily involved, enables companies to tap into the lucrative Welsh business audience in London, as a springboard to develop wider contacts and to develop new business.”

Simon Tee, a partner in Kilsby & Williams, said: “We have won significant new business in London and seek a platform to entertain, widen our network and win more business there. The London Welsh RFC Business Club offers the platform we require, along with an excellent standard of rugby.”

Other London Welsh RFC Business Club members include Acorn, Capital Law, Capital Network Solutions, Cardiff & Co, COS Group, Thomas Carroll, Village Hotels and Vista Support.
