Consultancy gains top ‘green’ accreditation

Leading South Wales international construction consultants Lewis and Lewis Ltd has obtained the international standard ISO 14001 certification for its corporate headquarters in Newport.
The certification by the renowned International Organisation for Standardisation recognises the company’s determination to manage the ecological impact of its business through concrete
measures.
The certification is subject to regular audits.
For Lewis and Lewis Ltd, which is based at Devon Place, this is its third ISO certification. The company obtained ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001 for Health & Safety in 2008.
Lewis Lewis, director of corporate and client services for the UK & Middle East, (pictured) said: “Since adopting the standard, we have implemented measures to improve the energy performance of
our offices and to reduce our environmental impact, while at the same time putting in place programmes for raising environmental awareness among our employees.
“We are proud to have received ISO 14001 certification, which rewards a collective effort by management and employees to embrace a responsible and rational approach to managing our
environment.”
The certification was awarded to Lewis and Lewis Ltd following an in-depth assessment of the company’s current environmental management systems.
Lewis said: “This accreditation is yet another example of Lewis and Lewis Ltd’s ongoing commitment to best practice and is a clear demonstration of the company’s environmental responsibility and
commitment which helps to set us apart from our competitors.”
Lewis and Lewis Ltd has built up a reputation for providing services such as quantity surveying, project management, construction design and management)co-ordination, employers’ agent and project
monitoring services. The firm, which employs 26 people including consultants, also has offices in London, Bristol and Dubai in the Middle East. Established in 1986 the practice became a limited
company in 1996 trading as Lewis and Lewis Ltd.
