Fundraisers to step out for kidney fund

VOLUNTEERS and fundraisers across Gwent will don their trainers on Sunday to Walk for Life and raise vital funds for the Kidney Wales Foundation.

Supporters in Abergavenny, Blackwood, Magor, Newport, Tredegar, and Usk have all organised walks, and in Monmouth there will be a sponsored litter pick.

In Blackwood a two mile walk starts at the Full Moon roundabout at 2pm.

Fundraisers from Magor and Undy have joined together to organise a five mile walk, starting at 12 noon in Magor Square.

The Newport walk will include walking over some of the city's famous bridges and starts outside the Kingsway Shopping Centre at 10.30am.

In Tredegar fundraisers will meet at 10.30am at Bedwellty Park.

In Usk fundraisers will meet at 10.30am at the Sessions House and walk along the town's flood route.

Staff from Alun Griffiths Contractors in Abergavenny will be walking up the Blorenge Mountain on April 6.

A sponsored litter pick takes place on Saturday in Monmouth, starting at 2pm at the Somerfield car park.

Last year fundraisers across Gwent helped raise £80,000 to support vital kidney services at the University Hospital for Wales.
