PUPILS from Tredegar's Bryn Bach Primary School learned about the environment with the help of one of Britain's most well known environmentalists.
Professor David Bellamy helped children plant trees at the school.
The event was part of an initative by the Principality Building Society to plant more than 3,000 trees in schools across Wales this year.
Headteacher Martin Price said the children were thrilled with Professor Bellamy's visit, and that the children are already doing their own environmental work in their eco club.
"We've already planted a wildlife area and a wildflower meadow and are developing a sensory garden and plan to grow veg this year too.
"This kind of event provides interest and inspiration for more children to get involved," he added.
