FOR a superb night out on those cold winter nights, look no further than The Bridge, Ebbw Vale.
The bar and grill at Station Approach, Pontygof, is the perfect place for all the family with an extensive choice of the traditional pub classics and vegetarian options.
The dining area opens out into a conservatory, ideal for parties and special occasions.
A separate bar area, recently refurbished, is the ideal place for an after dinner nightcap.
To start I had the delicious sweet chilli, prawn and cod fishcake with mixed leaves and a sweet chilli sauce (£3.95) and my friend enjoyed the traditional prawn cocktail (£4.75).
For the main course she had the 10oz horseshoe gammon served with fried egg, chips and peas (£7.95) and I opted for the lamb shank braised in red wine, rosemary and garlic served on creamed mash with a mint gravy and daily vegetables (£10.95).
A wide variety of deserts proved too much after the healthy main portions.
The food at The Bridge was outstanding, service exceptional and the atmosphere was warm an inviting.
A must for anyone looking to book a Christmas party menus available.
Total meal, plus soft drinks £32.70.
