STEELEYE Span keep on rolling after 40 years in the music business and are ending another busy year with a visit to Monmouthshire.
After heading to the USA and then Australia, they have returned to the UK and will play Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre on Wednesday, December 9.
The band says it has seldom been more active in its long career.
The current line-up of Maddy Prior, Peter Knight, Rick Kemp, Liam Genockey and Ken Nicol have become the longest serving of any across the years.
At a point when most bands are happy to settle down to rehashing past glories, Steeleye Span have pushed on with a succession of acclaimed albums.
This year saw the release of their 21st studio album, Cogs, Wheels & Lovers, a record that saw them go back to their roots.
Tickets for the 8pm show cost between £12.50 and £16 and are available from the box office on 01873 850805.
