Who are you and where do you originate from?

We are Rise In Our Time, made up of five musicians – Sean O’Brien (singer), Danny Wall (drummer), Shaun Wade (guitarist), Riccardo Floris (guitarist) and Joe Bryant (bassist). We all originate from Cardiff and Newport.

How long have you been together?

The two guitarists, Shaun and Riccardo, have been playing together since the age of 13 and have been very good friends since.

Eventually they started forming a band from a young age and as time progressed over the years we have formed and become Rise In Our Time.

As a whole band we have been together for a good few years at least.

Do you write your own material?

All our material is our own and we spend a lot of time writing our own songs perfecting them and mastering them.

Obviously like any other band we do have our covers which we play live and put our own little twist on it.

What best describes your style of music?

Our style of music is unique to Rise In Our Time, many people have said they can’t put their finger on it or compare us to another band. So the best way to describe us would be ‘alternative rock’.

What’s your best live experience to date?

Our best live experience would have to be when we played in St Peter’s Hall in Cardiff a couple of years ago.

We maxed out our number of fans, played great and had a great crowd.

However I’m sure there will be many more gigs and experiences which will top that.

Where are you currently working on?

We are currently getting some early tracks for all the fans on CD so they can hear what we are all about before we go away and work with a record label in October and release three amazing singles.

You can catch us live on September 9 in Tiger Tiger, Cardiff, playing for Noel Gallagher’s official after-party.
