easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, put its spring schedule for Bristol on sale for 2016 with a record number of flights and routes available for passengers to book.

More than 7,620 flights were set to take place to and from Bristol between March 21, 2016, and June 26, 2016, providing more than 1.2million seats.

These were part of more than 22.5 million seats were launched across the entire easyJet network.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, said: “We’re pleased to be have put spring 2015 from Bristol on sale for our passengers.

“We have come a long way since the launch of our first flight from Bristol back in May 2001. We now carry more than 3.6 million passengers a year from the airport and have 55 routes.

“We remain committed to our network from Bristol and on November 6, 2015, will launch our new year-round services to Basel and Vienna. This year has also seen us start flights to Bilbao, Catania, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Lanzarote, Porto and Zante. We are continuing to provide an unrivalled network for our passengers in the South-West and are now Bristol’s largest airline.”

The two new services to Basel and Vienna are expected to carry around 78,000 passengers annually. Bristol to Basel flights will take-off four times a week and Bristol to Vienna will fly twice a week. Prices for both routes start from £35.49 one-way.
