RHS Chelsea and the forthcoming Hampton Court Flower Show may be too expensive for some, but now there is a new kid on the block – Blenheim Palace Flower Show.

First established just three years ago the picture perfect backdrop of Blenheim Palace near Oxford and 2000 acres of parkland and gardens really rivals the big names in the horticultural world.

Growing in impact each year with more than 300 exhibitors, the three-day event from June 19 to 21 will this year be opened by the Queen of British baking Mary Berry.

Matt Upson, director of show organiser Aztec Events, said: “The show is going from strength to strength and in just three short years it has firmly made its mark on the horticultural calendar.

“We sold out of stand space in record time. Visitors really seem to appreciate that they can explore the Palace’s 2000 acres of landscaped parkland, pleasure and formal gardens at no extra charge.”

The show pays homage to Sir Winston Churchill who died 50 years ago. At its heart is a 25,000 sq ft Victory Pavilion which feature more than 40 floral displays and outside visitors can enjoy a stroll down Winston’s Way and Churchill’s Crescent to see the show gardens.
