Most holidaymakers think international travel harms the environment, but few are prepared to change their own plans.
More than half of UK consumers believe travel abroad is ungreen'' with a third citing cheap flights as a major cause of global warming, a survey by travelsupermarket.com found.
But 93% have never changed their holiday destination over green concerns. And only 16% of the 6,093 adults questioned said they were likely to.
Nearly half of those polled felt no guilt about flying, with the over-55s worrying the least. Women felt more guilty than men, with Londoners feeling guiltiest. Almost two in five would not pay a green tax for flying, with 31% being prepared to pay between £1 and £10.
