TICKETS for the 2012 Newport Food Festival supper at The Riverfront on Friday, October 5 are already proving popular and selling out quickly.

Last year’s inaugural supper was a sellout success and inquiries have already been received about this year’s meal.

Once again it is being held on the eve of the festival, but this year it will be hosted by The Riverfront. The Waterloo Hotel and Bistro and The White Hart Village Inn in Llangybi will be preparing some delicious starters and main courses, while Vittorios will dish up the mouth-watering desserts.

Councillor Debbie Wilcox, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “This will be a fabulous entrée to this year’s food festival and people should make sure they book their places in plenty of time. All three restaurants are renowned for the quality of their food so we can look forward to a fantastic evening of fine dining and entertainment.”

Newport Food Festival takes place on Saturday, October 6. As well as masterclasses, there will be stalls offering food to buy and taste, entertainment and the final of the Teenchef competition. Events and activities will be taking place indoors and outside in various venues in the city centre.

Tickets for the supper cost £30.50 for the three courses and include a welcome drink. They can be bought in person or over the phone on 01633 656757. Bookings made by credit or debit card are subject to a single transaction charge of £1.50. They are also available online at newport.gov.uk/theriverfront and there will be an administration charge of £1 per ticket.
