Bestselling books to be won as opticians in Newport recognises remarkable reads

BOOK lovers are in for a treat this summer as more than £100 worth of bestselling books are being offered by South Wales Argus, courtesy of the Specsavers Bestseller Book Awards.

The Awards, in partnership with Neilson Book and The Sunday Times, publicly celebrate success in sales across all formats for the first time based on actual sales data.

Authors who have sold more than one million books have been awarded Platinum status, with Gold awards for those books that have achieved sales of more than 500,000 in the past year. Silver awards have been bestowed on books that have sold more than 250,000 copies since January 2000.

Books offered as part of the prize include the vegetarian cook book, Plenty by Yotam Ottelenghi, How to be a Woman by best-selling author, Caitlin Moran and two of David Walliams’s children’s books, Awful Auntie and Demon Dentists.

Jason Williams, store director at Specsavers in Newport, says: ‘There is an obvious connection between reading and glasses and many of our customers enjoy nothing better than losing themselves in a good book, myself included! I am looking forward to seeing if there are any titles that I have yet to read.’

To win, simply answer the following question: Who wrote the vegetarian cook book, Plenty?
