Dog of the Week this week is Chloe.

Despite her youthful looks, Chloe isn't a puppy, but neither is she ready to hang up her lead yet. She is about 9 years old, which for a small dog equates to about 50 years old in human years, so she still has lots of things left on her bucket list.

Chloe was suffering from a very tender tummy when she arrived at Newport City Dogs Home, and the staff arranged for her to pop into the vets for some investigations. First indications are that she simply has a little bit of scar tissue from an old hernia surgery which had caused some adhesions, so she has had a little operation and hopefully she'll be a lot more comfortable in a few days time.

Chloe has been very friendly around the other residents at Newport City Dogs Home, and even though she knows how to take turns when it comes to treats she certainly knows how to attract attention as she does the cutest little 'beg'.

If you would like the company of an easy, low-maintenance, friendly and affectionate little dog in the prime of life Chloe could be the one for you. If you'd like to meet her please phone the staff on 01633 290902, or pop in during opening hours. Between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, on weekdays, 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 3.30pm on Saturday. Please note: the home is closed on Sundays.
