On Saturday 12th April, much vaunted blues star Jo Harman and her world class band 'The Company', come to The Beaufort Ballroom in Gwent for their own first ever show in Wales (a couple of Festival appearances notwithstanding). Last month was described in the Daily Mirror, as part of a half page interview, as 'the finest female soul blues singer in the UK' and her debut album has received consistent international acclaim as well as dozens of 'best of ' awards, internationally. Jo recently signed toV2 (stable mates include Adele, Mumford and Sons, Queens of the Stone Age etc) in Europe and her debut album 'Dirt On My Tongue' recently entered the Netherlands album charts proper. Recently, Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin' Criminals) said on his BBC Radio 2 show 'Sometimes you hear a singer who leaves you speechless - I am'.

Having secured over 40 UK and European festival gigs in 2013, including prestigious slots at likes of Cheltenham and Edinburgh Jazz Festivals , last summer Jo was one of only 12 (otherwise household name) artists appearing at Parkpop in the Hague, performing to over 300,000 people. Late last year Jo performed, alongside names like Robert Plant, Van Morrison and more at BluesFest at The Royal Albert Hall in London for Live Nation (Jo's performance broadcast by Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music). Jo also appeared on prime time Netherlands TV and mainstream radio (see video below), as well as making three appearances within 6 months at the world famous Paradiso, Amsterdam.

This spring she releases 'Jo Harman and Company - Live At The Royal Albert Hall', recorded by the BBC, and this year her international touring schedule extends into France and Germany.

Jo says of her visit ' I played a couple of Festivals in Wales and what struck me was the warmth and enthusiasm of Welsh Crowds, not least the singing along to the songs! I'm really looking forward to doing my own show in the area when we visit Beaufort Ballroom on 12th April'
