ONE of the UK’s leading folk musicians Kate Rusby will be at Cardiff’s St David’s Hall this month.
At 33 she is now 15 years into a career that has given British folk music a breath of fresh air.
Voted Best Live Act at the 2006 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Rusby is opening up folk music to a new generation.
From her Mercury-nominated 1999 album Sleepless to 2007’s acclaimed Awkward Annie, plus collaborations with Idelwind’s Roddy Woombie, Ronan Keating, Eddi Reader, Kris Drever et al, Rusby is a key figure in the folk scene.
She performs at St David’s Hall on Wednesday, October 15 at 7.30pm.
