Who are you and where do you originate from?

We are Kyshera. We’re a three-piece rock band from the Cardiff area.

How long have you been together as a band?

The band got started in 2005 but we got settled on our current line-up last year.

How would you describe your style of music?

We describe it as ‘konic’, a term we invented to mean ‘anything that is otherwise indefinable’. We’ve never fitted into any existing cliques, so we invented our own. Plus the vagueness of it gives us freedom to do whatever we want, when we want. We have a konic manifesto as well where we encourage others to reject all forms of conformity and to celebrate the ‘alternative’.

What’s your best live experience so far?

We’ve just got back from playing some shows in Canada which were amazing. On the last night we played to a packed crowd at the famous Cherry Cola’s club in Toronto and spent the night celebrating in a rooftop jacuzzi party, next to the CN Tower, drinking and watching the sun rise.

What are you working on at the moment?

We have a new album, Made In China, coming out on October 1 through Konic Records /Universal, we’ve got a new single out called Mannequins and its video is also out this week. We’re in talks with an agent in the States and Europe for some ‘post-release’ live shows, so we’re busy, busy.

Where can we catch you live?

Most of our upcoming shows are outside of Wa les at the moment but we’re playing a show with the Reasoning on October 14 at the Globe in Cardiff and will be hosting a launch party for our album release sometime in September – date to be confirmed but it’s going to be a special, free, intimate show at the Full Moon in Cardiff – keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for details of the night.
