Boyz II Men have revealed their “simple” demands for their tour rider, which includes chicken and cookies.

The group – Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris – are celebrating their 23rd anniversary with a tour around the country, which includes dates in Birmingham, Bristol and London.

“We’re simple, very simple. We like to have Gatorade or water, and some fruit on the menu, as well as chicken and a couple of oatmeal and raisin biscuits,” Wanya said.

The trio have performed gigs in Newcastle, Hull and Manchester, where they sang hits such as End Of The Road and Mama as well as tracks from their new album Collide.

“We try to put together a show which will leave people with memories, going back and forward. We’ve done a few shows already and it’s almost like we never left (the UK),” the 41-year-old singer said.

“We do it for the people. Everybody in the building is going to have fun.”

Wanya confessed he used to get fed up singing the same songs, but doesn’t mind it now.

“At one point, we were like, ‘How many different ways can you sing these songs?’ As you get older, you start to find connections with the audience and you realise it’s about the feeling,” he explained.

“We’re not trying to deliver the song, but the feeling it evokes and that memorable moment. You sing these songs every day, all the time. You have to find different ways so it feels different, and you utilise other people’s energy than your own.

“All of the classics like End Of The Road, I’ll Make Love To You, Mama and Four Seasons Of Loneliness have touched people’s lives in different ways. I make sure we have a repertoire that mixes them so people have a full show of energy, laughter and tears.”

Boyz II Men will play Bristol O2 Academy on May 10, Birmingham O2 Academy on May 12 and London’s Indigo at the O2 Arena on May 13.
