Former X Factor winner James Arthur narrowly missed out on the top spot in the singles chart as The Chainsmokers held on to the number one position for a fourth week.
Closer, the collaboration between US duo The Chainsmokers and singer Halsey, remained in top spot on the Official Singles Chart after fending off competition from Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go, which rose from 25th to second.
The track is the lead single from Arthur’s upcoming sophomore album Back From The Edge and was the most downloaded of the week, with just under 40,000 snapping it up.
Calvin Harris’s new track My Way became the Scottish DJ’s 21st top 10 single after it came in at number five.
The rest of the top five is made up by DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s Let Me Love You, which was down to third, while Major Lazer’s Cold Water dropped to fourth.
Emeli Sande’s comeback track Hurts debuted at number 22 and Ellie Goulding’s Still Falling For You jumped nine places to reach a new peak of number 12.
Meanwhile, Skepta’s Mercury Prize success prompted a return to the top 20 for Konnichiwa – which entered the album chart at number two when it was released in May. It bounced 40 places to number 13 after a sales rise of 174% since his success on September 14.
British indie band Bastille battled competition from rock legends Led Zeppelin to retain their place at the top of the charts for a second week with their second album Wild World.
Led Zeppelin’s Complete BBC Sessions album – a collection of the group’s five live sessions from 1969 – entered the chart at number three.
