Rebel Wilson has revealed that Pitch Perfect 2 will please fans of the first film.
The Australian actress, who reprises her role as Barden Bellas’ singer Fat Amy in the upcoming sequel, said she had already seen a preview of the follow-up.
“I’ve actually seen Pitch Perfect 2 before coming here and it crushes it, I will say that,” she said.
“We made it for the fans who really enjoyed the first movie and I think they’re going to be very excited when that comes out in May.”
The trailer notched up millions of views when it was unveiled on November 21, but Rebel teased: “The trailer doesn’t give anything away, that’s just the teaser.”
Rebel, who next stars in Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb alongside Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, said she had no doubts about returning for the second film, which will open in UK cinemas in May.
“I love playing Fat Amy, it’s kind of like playing myself,” she said.
Elizabeth Banks makes her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2, which sees cast members such as Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin and Anna Camp returning, alongside newcomer Hailee Steinfeld.
The second instalment in the musical comedy sees the college a cappella group chasing worldwide domination as they enter an international singing competition.
Rebel said: “The more female directors and writers, the better the female roles are. In Pitch Perfect 2, you’ve got ten girls who star as the Bellas and they’re all great roles. They’re all hilarious. I think Elizabeth did such a good job co-ordinating it.”
Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb is in cinemas now.
