The Spice Girls and Liam Gallagher are rumoured to be performing at the Olympics closing ceremony.

Victoria Beckham and her bandmates, who have not performed together since 2008 but recently reunited at the launch of the musical Viva Forever, look set to reform for the closing ceremony on August 12, reports the Daily Mirror.

Sources say the girls are "95 per cent" confirmed to perform at the event.

Victoria apparently revealed in a radio interview that she would love to perform with the rest of the Spice Girls again.

Speaking on RTE's John Murray Show, the mum-of-four added: "We are so proud to be English and we are very excited about the Olympics."

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Liam Gallagher could be appearing at London 2012 with his Beady Eye bandmates.

The star will apparently perform a new arrangement of Oasis track Wonderwall with bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.

A source said: "A couple of months back the Olympic production team got in touch with Noel (Gallagher) about playing his part in the closing ceremony. Along with his manager, they thought long and hard about it. It was a big temptation, with 650 million people expected to tune in on TV.

"But he knocked it back in the end - he has been on a great tour and he doesn't really need to do it. The organisers asked Liam if he was game and he said yes."
