It has to be said, for its first year in existence Centrestage Cymru has had quite an outstanding beginning. Two fabulous café shows alongside a magnificent presentation of last autumn’s Godspell (which has resulted in several NODA nominations) have been topped with a year-end revue show.

In just over two hours Thank You For The Music combines music, song, dance, comedy and drama performed by the Centre Stage team (and ably supported by orchestra) from a variety of well loved musicals including Carousel, West Side Story, Mamma Mia, and Starlight Express.

There are reminders of classic dance routines including an energetic opening of Audition from 42nd Street and a glittering delivery of All That Jazz from Chicago. On the lighter side, there is a comical performances of West Side Story’s Gee Officer Krupke and Omigod You Guys from Legally Blonde.

The show is complimented with additional support from The Sharon Fitzgerald Musical Theatre Group whose magical interpretations of Follow The Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz and Be Back Soon from Oliver! are sung with joy and passion as well as meticulously choreographed.

There isn’t enough room to name check all the outstanding performers individually but The Centre Stage team can rest assured that it is their combined efforts that make this show a credit to their society as well as a must-see!

What better way to begin the Easter break than by catching this musical treat for all the family. It continues until Saturday (March 23).
