THE magic of the Wizard of Oz was brought to life at the New Theatre through an adaption from the Orbit Theatre.

This family favourite had both children and adults following the story of Dorothy and her dog Toto as they embarked on the yellow brick road.

Dorothy without a doubt was played by the best actress for the role, where her acting and singing could be compared to a role within the West End.
The addition to the real life pet Toto on stage was a pleasant and heart-warming surprise to all in the audience.

As the story developed the typical characters of the scarecrow, lion, and tin man had the children in the audience watching excitedly as the fantasy element in the story grew.

Oz helped present the colourful dreams within all children’s imaginations with the bright costume and array of dancing with the Munchkin characters. Watching children of all ages perform at the New Theatre was a fun and lovable element of the show.

The Witch of the West played a brilliant villain in the show as she tried to prevent their trip to Oz, where members in the audience showed their frustration through booing.

This was an entertaining show that has been a favourite tale throughout generations and is an ideal treat to take your children this half-term.
