FUNFILLED and uplifting is how I would describe Save The Last Dance.

This is a show to hear all the hits from the 1960s including Viva Las Vegas, And Then He Kissed Me, Little Sister and Please Mr Postman.

Focusing on the love story of a teenager and her sister from Luton on holiday in 1963, Elizabeth Cater as Marie falls madly in love with a US serviceman.
Despite the ongoing worry of upsetting her family by engaging in a mixed race relationship, Marie longs to sustain a relationship with her new found love Curtis. Although slightly cheesy at times, Marie’s innocence and purity shines through, where you hope they will receive their ‘happy ever after’ ending.

One of the stars, Antony Costa as Milton, plays a confident and entertaining role. Undoubtedly it’s his experience as a pop star that brought him to the show where his musical performances were enjoyed by all.

While the narrative could have been more complex, it’s the music, singing and dancing that makes this a fun night out.

Singing from the audience was encouraged where the last few songs had people dancing, clapping and generally having a great time.

This show will take you on a feel good journey.

It continues until Saturday.
