BASED on the hit film, the cast of WAWWA put on a fantastic performance of the much-loved The Full Monty.
The musical got the audience involved from the beginning with the packed auditorium in for a hell of a night.
The humour from all the characters was consistent, with especially good chemistry between Jerry (Phil Paisey) and Dave (Gethin Pearce) whose friendship and insecurities were believable and felt by the audience. Jerry’s vocals were strong throughout and he made a great leading man for the performance.
The tension was on for the men as they worked up to their Chippendale show with Harold (Thomas Carron), Ethan (Owen Lloyd Hughes), Horse (Andre-Paul Spring) and Malcom (Matt Price) making an entertaining team on stage.
Other characters Georgie (Sarah Jayne Hale), Vicki (Sasha Pallari), Reg (Ben Donovan) and Jeanette (Katie Green) also stood out, giving the story pizzazz while touching on the men’s self-confidence issues.
The cast kept the upbeat comedy alive and their enthusiasm during the musical numbers was contagious, with a standing ovation in the final number leaving the audience begging for more.
Showing until Saturday, The Full Monty is an exhilarating and unmissable show and really is a must see.
