STARTING with a sultry saxophone playing behind a curtain, Crazy For You is the ultimate feel-good musical with a fabulous score from the Gershwin brothers’ songbook.
Mistaken identities, plot twists, heartbreak, happiness and a wealth of memorable tunes, including I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Embraceable You, all feature in this celebration of the great Broadway musicals.
Tom Chambers was outstanding as Bobby Child with his physical comedy skills shining as much as his singing and dancing and I also loved Caroline Flack’s portrayal of Irene Roth.
Charlotte Wakefield was the highlight of the show, her beautiful voice blended well with the Gershwin Brothers soundtrack. It was a delight to see her sing and dance across the stage.
Finally a word about the amazingly talented ensemble who not only sang and danced but also played musical instruments on stage while they were singing and dancing.
Musical instruments were rolled around the stage as if light as a feather.
Crazy For You is on until the Saturday September 9, you’d be “crazy” to miss it!
