WERE they good? Did they give the fans the songs they know and love and have they lost their edge? Who on earth am I talking about?
The Moody Blues of course where have you been for the last three decades or more?
Yes, these polished professionals Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge alias the Moody Blues were very good, after all they are the group that gave us the timeless Nights in White Satin and they made sure the audience at St David's Hall got what they had come to hear - a pop music legend!
Their Nights On The Road tour coincides with the release of the Live At The Isle Of Wight 1970 CD which captures the magic of the band onstage in front of an audience estimated at half a million!
Lovely to See You was the opening number followed by Tuesday Afternoon and a whole raft of songs from albums down the years.
Justin Hayward's voice hasn't lost its edge and for most of the second half the audience was on its feet after each number applauding and whistling their appreciation.
With guitar playing that left you at times wondering at their sheer ability the concert passed much too quickly for the audience who were not going to be pacified until they had heard Nights in White Satin and the band called back to the stage for an encore Ride My Seesaw.
