DRAMA, dance, music and film - all were on offer at Cwmbran's Congress Theatre in a show which lived up to its name - variety was certainly on offer.

The night was put together by a six member company made up of Year 13 students studying performing arts at Llantarnam School, who performed songs from hit shows as a group and also as solo artistes too.

The group had invited a host of entertainers from Cwmbran and Newport to take part in the show and the enthusiastic audience gave appreciation for their efforts after a truly entertaining evening.

One of the most memorable acts was a small band of hearing impaired pupils from the school who signed to three hit songs including Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are. Some of us were moved to tears while in complete contrast rapper Sheldon Derrick owned the stage with his quick fire renditions created on the spot after asking the audience for key words. It's not often you get songs about a unicorn, a banana and Cardiff! But he did it all with skill.

Also wowing the audience was acoustic singer/songwriter Tobias Robertson who performed three of his own songs to the delight of the audience .

And loud cheers hit the roof whenever performers from the Starlight Dance Company took to the stage, showing off skills from ballet to hip hop.

Unusual - and a bit gory - were the films created by the Feed Me Cheese boys which shocked and made you laugh at the same time. This was a great night of entertainment by local youngsters.

Move over acts from Britain's Got Talent - we've got some talented stars in the making right here in Gwent.
