Folk-punk and pop at Le Pub

THERE are two gigs in the next few weeks at Newport's Le Pub featuring some up-and-coming bands.

Next Friday on April 25, Lazy Girl, who hail from Newport will be performing with doors opening at 8pm and tickets costing £3 in advance and £5 on the door.

Lazy Girl write short pop songs about such diverse subjects as ghosts and hospital radio.

They will be joined by Newport trio Cabellero, who play an edgy brand of folk-punk, and Sub Rosa.

Then on Friday, May 2, with doors opening at 8pm and tickets costing £3 in advance and £5 on the door, The GraveYard Jonnys and Johnny Trashed who have been described as sounding like "Johnny Cash on speed".

Tickets are available from Diverse, Rockway and In Exile in Newport.
