Woman rescued from river
A WOMAN was detained under the Mental Health Act last night, after being pulled from the River Usk close to the George Street Bridge, Newport.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after midnight.
The woman was dragged to safety using throw lines, dealt by fire crews from Duffryn, Cwmbran and Malpas.
Once out of the water she was detained under the Mental Health Act before being transported to the Royal Gwent Hospital.

I'm pretty sure I heard the helicopter out too? Hope the lady makes a swift recovery.
