The couple, from Abergavenny, died after their black Saab collided with a Subaru Impreza on the B4589 near the Hardwick restaurant on the Old Raglan Road just before 12.30pm on April 20.

The driver of a green Rover, a woman in her 80's who is believed to live in the area, was arrested in connection with the collision and released on police bail until June 11 while police carry out their investigation.

At the inquest opening, the bodies of the couple were released for the funeral. The hearing was adjourned.
