THE next phase of housing at a multi-million pound regeneration scheme on Newport’s former steelworks has been released for sale.
Housing builder Persimmon Homes has launched its second building phase at the Glan Llyn development on the former Llanwern steelworks site.
The developer released its first housing phase on its Greenacres development at Glan Llyn last November.
This included two, three and four-bedroom homes. It is now set to release more after seeing an increase in buyers in the area.
Persimmon is set to build 178 houses in total at Greenacres and will offer part-exchange and shared equity schemes.
Two houses on the second phase have already been sold to customers before they have been finished.
Glan Llyn is a 20-year project which will have 4,000 homes and create up to 6,000 new jobs.
It is also set to have sports facilities, supermarkets, two schools, a community centre and a doctors’ surgery.
