THE family of the man killed in a crash in Marshfield, on Friday, said he "touched the lives of all who knew him."

Ryan Lee Channing, 33, from Marshfield died when his car and collided with a van on Marshfield Road.

His family said: "Ryan was born and bred in Marshfield where he was a keen member of Marshfield AFC from childhood to adulthood. He attended Marshfield Primary and Bassaleg schools. He had a smile for everyone he met with his charm and comic ways. He was an avid Spurs fan and touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted family man who was so proud of his partner Nicola and darling son Jayce, aged 3."

Mr Channing's partner Nicola Birch said she would miss Ryan "with all her heart" and added "he was always there for everyone who needed him. He loved making people laugh and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a doting dad and I am so glad I have Jayce to keep his memory alive."

While friends; Iggy, Ross, Paul, Nathan, Martyn, Wesley, Nicky and Matthew described Ryan as "selfless" and that he would do "anything for his friends and family.

"He would light up the room with his cheeky smile and was the joker of the pack, famous for his quirky catchphrases and one-liners.

"He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a proud father and deep down a quiet and affectionate family man. He will be missed by us all."
