2.30 could be the morning but the pm could mean it was the afternoon! Technically if it was the afternoon it should read 14.30pm and if it was the morning it should read 02.30am! So reading this article it could've taken place in the afternoon or morning!

It says 2:30pm in the report. This means that it is the afternoon.
"Technically if it was the afternoon it should read 14.30pm" - actually incorrect because if it was using a 24 hour clock format then 14:30 is sufficient.
Besides why are the first 3 comments regarding the time and not the fact that this woman was assaulted which is more important. Hope she doesn't suffer as a result of this incident.

All normal aspects of living in a city like Newport ... Dodging the drunks, junkies, beggars, smokers who don't have there own cigarettes, chavs forgetting the price of a bus ride and consistently asking for 50p for the bus even though it has not been that price for years, flashers in parks and subways, groups of youths wailing sticks, petrol, knives which have claimed many of newports citizens lives, or contributed to the constant cycle of getting mugged then fearing for your life, and now another one to add to the list!

My point is if it was the first 2.30 after midnight how foolish for a young lady to be on her own. If it is the other 2.30 it is worrying that these people are prepared to attack during daylight hours. Ialso hope she has overcome her ordeal.
